Hello, let me tell you how this all started..

Welcome to Rainbow Rose Yarn Crafts.

It's exciting to begin this new adventure and, if I'm honest, scary too.

I love working with yarn and I want to inspire that creativity and passion in others. I was lucky enough to learn how to knit and crochet decades ago as a small child sat on my Nanna's knee.

That first project was full of holes, dropped stitches and mistakes. It would probably have unraveled but I'm told the yarn fairies fixed it, just enough, while I was sleeping. It still had wonky edges and random holes but the unraveling dropped stitches were back on the needles.

Those yarn fairies were the love of a Grandmother who looked past the mistakes and saw the beauty in a child's first attempt at something new.

I was so proud of that scrap of pink knitting. I'd made it myself. I could really knit like my Nanna.

My first crochet lesson was how to do slip stitches in scrap yarn around the edge of my knitting. Later she taught me how to make a chain and a little coaster. Each project filled me with pride.

I still feel that wonder with each new project, knowing that I made something unique and beautiful. I love watching the fabric grow as I work. I love the colour and texture and the freedom to make whatever I choose.

If my blog can inspire one person to try something new or learn a new skill I'll be happy. I'll be learning too as I intend to fill this space with my projects, tutorials, videos and possibly a few patterns too.

I hope pictures like this will inspire you to follow me on this crafting journey
