A magic ring is useful for crochet projects, like granny squares and shawls, that are started in the round. Traditionally, these would be started with a chain that is joined into a ring of a fixed size.
The advantage of using a magic loop is that you can tighten the loop and close the centre of the ring for a neater finish.
The standard magic loop uses a single strand of yarn and can sometimes work loose or snap so I personally prefer a double magic ring as it is more secure and less likely to fail.
In this video tutorial, I show you how to make the loop and tighten it afterwards. If you find the video useful, please like and subscribe to my YouTube channel.
